...this is the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! I've seen for less than £8000 in nearly a year. Annoyingly, they appear to have risen in price. If I had £4500 knocking around I'd buy that in a heartbeat.

They could hardly sell the things when they were new!

That would be a NP quite indeed! But I'm not so sure about it's state when looking at the lower part of the door / rockers on the right, seems a bit 'bumpy':

Kinja'd!!!

And it's a RHD so it's not for me anyway ;-)

Based on the text on ebay it should be a NP. Maybe just try to bid 3k and hope no-one will outbid you?

I've just realised that multiple, recessed round headlights are quite possibly my favourite car styling element. Ever.

Restoration is a marvellous thing :)

They sold a fair few, albeit not as much as the yuppie-mobile E30. They sold 22,616 GTV6s, although they didn't market them heavily in the States so if you're over there they'd be rather rarer than they are on the continent.

Another thing to bear in mind is that the GTV6 is really only a competitor to the 325i Coupe. They had the Alfetta GTV 1.6l, 1.8l and 2.0l which competed with the 4-cylinder Coupes (sold 114,963) and the Alfetta saloon which competed with the 4-cylinder E30 saloon (sold 448,417).

Not massive numbers by American carmaker standards, but alright for Europe and pretty good for Alfa.

The difficulty is that they rust (all cars from the 80s do, but these do a little more). Couple that with the British climate and you get a poor survival rate over here.

The sill looks alright to me, although it would be worth a closer inspection.

If I had £3k I would do that without hesitation.

As it stands, I've got -£1440 until the 24th, £60 off the bottom of my overdraft.

Turns out, buying Jags on a shoestring budget will stretch your finances somewhat...

Agreed. So many of the cars I like have them, and when a car was available with either twin-rounds or solid headlights (like the XJ40), the one-piece lights always look a bit naff.

Ha, I'm in Ireland and the Alfa survival rate is essentially nil. You don't see anything older than a 156 and even they're nearly gone now.

Bummer :( there's still quite a few 156s knocking around the South East, one of which is mine :)
